How to Trust Your Intuition Again After a Relationship Ends
"How did I not see it?"
If you've asked yourself that question, you're not alone, and it's usually the moment trust in your own intuition starts to crack.
It's a reasonable question to ask.
It's also, often, the wrong question to spend months living inside of.
Because here's the thing: you probably *did* see it.
Somewhere, some version of you registered the mismatch, the tension, the thing that didn't sit right and then, for entirely human reasons, talked yourself out of it.
Hope did that.
Love did that.
Fear of being alone did that.
That's not the same as your intuition failing you.
That's your intuition being overruled.
**The difference between intuition and hope**
Intuition tends to be quiet, steady, and doesn't need convincing.
It's the felt sense in your body before your mind builds a story around it.
Hope, on the other hand, is loud, insistent, and often needs a lot of justification to keep believing.
Learning to tell these apart is one of the most valuable skills you can rebuild right now.
**A practice for this week** Start small. Not "should I trust this new relationship" small, smaller than that. Notice the tiny, low-stakes moments where your gut has an opinion: which route to drive, whether to say yes to that coffee, whether to speak up in the meeting. Follow the small signal. Let it be right, or let it be wrong, and notice either way that you *can* read it.
Trust rebuilds through repetition, not through one big test.
You didn't lose your intuition.
It's still there, exactly where it's always been.
What you're rebuilding isn't the signal, it's your willingness to listen to it before the story gets loud enough to argue you out of it.
*Learning to trust yourself again is deep work, and you don't have to do it alone. Book a call *
